Windana Drug and Alcohol Recovery Inc. is a major non-government organisation employing over 100 staff to provide specialist alcohol and other drug (AOD) services to more than 2000 clients per year. Windana, operating since 1984, works with people to address the drivers and impacts of problematic AOD use, providing a responsive, integrated and holistic approach to recovery. Windana delivers evidence-based programs incorporating complementary treatment services to individuals and families that assist them to recover from the harmful effects of drugs and alcohol. We use a comprehensive, responsive and integrated approach to recovery, utilising traditional medicine, pharmacology, psychological and natural therapies to achieve treatment goals for our clients.

For more than 30 years, we have been helping people rebuild their lives in a safe, caring environment, supporting our clients wherever they are in the recovery process.
Windana will be opening a new residential rehabilitation service (Therapeutic Community) for the Grampians and surrounding regions in October 2018. Once all the beds are available from March 2019, around 80 people every year will be able to benefit from services in their own community.
As consequence, we are looking for a Service Manager to manage this new Therapeutic Community (TC). The Service Manager will be responsible for the day to day operations of the TC and provide leadership, clinical expertise, supervision and support to the staff and resident teams.
TC residents rehabilitate by exploring their own life experiences and learning from the experience and insights of others. In education, therapy, and work groups which form the basis of the daily routine, everyone has an opportunity to explore new ways of experiencing life.
To be successful in this role, you will have, a minimum of two years’ work experience in the drug and alcohol field, experience in management or leadership of a team and demonstrated knowledge of co-morbidity in relation to problematic alcohol and other drug use. You will also have a Bachelor degree or equivalent in Nursing, Social Work, Psychology or similar.
