We are fast approaching the move to our new adult withdrawal site.

Our new site will enable us to evolve and respond to what clients need both in terms of services and physical environment, and remain a leading provider of alcohol and other drug services in Victoria. You can read our initial announcement here.

What this means for clients and referrers

To enable a safe and thorough relocation from 92 Alma Road to 344 Dandenong Road our Adult Residential Withdrawal Services will temporarily cease from Friday 17 July, with admissions at the new site recommencing on Monday 10 August. Here are the key dates you need to know:

• Friday 10 July: Final day of admissions for withdrawal services at 92 Alma Road.
• Friday 17 July: Last day of service delivery from 92 Alma Road.
• Monday 10 August: First day of service delivery from our new site at 344 Dandenong Road.

Clients referred to Windana between 10 July and 10 August will now go on the waitlist for admission to the new site. While they are waiting for admission, we will offer:

• weekly brief intervention support to everyone on the waitlist.
• the option to attend our community groups – SMART Recovery (St Kilda and Cranbourne), peer support (St Kilda and Frankston), and others.
• non-residential withdrawal service for clients seeking to reduce their AOD consumption in the community prior to attending our residential withdrawal service.
• connection with external services for people requiring medical withdrawal support, or who require urgent admission to a residential program.

Referral process

Our referral process remains the same, with all referrals for Windana adult withdrawal services requiring:

• AOD Intake Tool (dated and signed within the last 3 months)
• AOD Comprehensive Assessment (dated and signed within the last 3 months)
• AOD Self-completion Form (dated and signed within the last 3 months)
• A Medical Summary which includes – presenting substance use problems, physical health and mental health diagnoses and a list of current prescribed medications and recent pathology
• Medicare Card Number, including clients IRN (number next to name) and expiry date
