Getting referred to Windana

For many of our alcohol and drug services, including our detoxes, residential rehabs, drug and alcohol counselling and care and recovery coordination, the referral process is the same.

To get referred to drug and alcohol treatment services in Victoria’s public system, your first step is to get an Assessment.

This is where you talk with a trained person (on the phone or in person) about your needs and goals. They will then tell you about suitable services available and refer you to the service/s you wish to go to.

You can start the Assessment by contacting DirectLine on 1800 888 236 (available 24/7) or visit www.directline.org.au.

During your Assessment, you are welcome to say you are interested in coming to Windana.

For our ResetLife non-residential rehab program, contact us directly at or on 03 9529 7955.

If you’re referred to us and are coming to our program, we will be in touch to make sure you have everything you need.

Our youth alcohol and outreach program takes referrals directly at or on 03 9529 7955. Your GP or other support service can also make a referral.

Getting referred to Windana

To get referred to drug and alcohol treatment services in Victoria’s public system, your first step is to get an Assessment.

This is where you talk with a trained person (on the phone or in person) about your needs and goals. They will then tell you about suitable services available and refer you to the service/s you wish to go to.

You can start the Assessment process in two ways:

  1. Contact DirectLine – Victoria’s central hub for referrals

  2. Contact your local Intake and Assessment service
    See this list of Intake and Assessment services and find the service that looks after the area where you live or stay.
