Getting referred to Windana

To get referred to drug and alcohol treatment services in Victoria’s public system, your first step is to get an Assessment.

This is where you talk with a trained person (on the phone or in person) about your needs and goals. They will then tell you about suitable services available and refer you to the service/s you wish to go to.

You can start the Assessment process in two ways:

  1. Contact DirectLine – Victoria’s central hub for referrals
    PH: 1800 888 236 (available 24/7) or visit www.directline.org.au.
  2. Contact your local Intake and Assessment service
    See this list of Intake and Assessment services and find the service that looks after the area where you live or stay.

During your Assessment, you are welcome to say you are interested in coming to Windana.
