Each term we offer lots of exciting programs and services for the Cockatoo community and beyond. We host a range of activities for people of all ages, and you’ll be made welcome in any class or drop-in activity you would like to come along to. Learn to dance, make some art, build your skills and much more.

Our programs

Wednesday 9:30-10:00am

Introduce your little one to the joy of movement and music with our Tiny Groovers class, designed for children aged 18 months and up! In a fun and nurturing environment, toddlers and their caregivers can enjoy lively dance routines, playful exercises, and engaging musical activities that promote coordination, rhythm, and social skills. Our experienced instructors use age-appropriate techniques to foster a love for dance and creativity in your child. Join us for a delightful experience where your tiny groover can move, groove, and make new friends.

Introduce your child to the grace and beauty of ballet with our Ballet class designed for children aged 2-5 years. In a nurturing and imaginative environment, young dancers will learn basic ballet movements, develop coordination, and explore their creativity through music and movement. Our ACRO class is designed for children aged 2-5 years, where little ones can explore the exciting world of acrobatics in a safe and playful environment. DIG IN

Develop essential knowledge and basic art skills to create an art portfolio in a supportive and collaborative environment. This pre-accredited, government-funded course spans 20 weeks over two terms, focusing on drawing, painting, and mixed media.

Targeted at individuals seeking employment in the arts industry or looking to enhance their artistic skills and community connections, this course also prepares students for further training, such as a Certificate II in Visual Arts. Prospective students must complete an enrolment process before attending their first class.

DURATION: 20 weeks over two terms.

BEGINNER ART SKILLS

Get involved

We have a range of volunteering opportunities at the House. From administration, social media, to hosting coffee groups, or volunteering your time as a tutor and sharing your passion. Volunteering helps you stay active and connected to your community and can also provide you with other opportunities.

We are always looking for new Tutors. If you are interested in running activities or programs at the house, give us a call. We have time available on weekdays, weeknights and over the weekend.

Please note, we have security cameras in place. Footage of recent vandalism involving two teen individuals has been sent to the police for further investigation.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Together, we can ensure the pantry remains a valuable resource for our community.
