Support groups at Windana
Windana delivers numerous group programs across our site that support your recovery journey. These include SMART Recovery programs, peer support groups, as well as others developed by our AOD clinicians.
Bloom

Bloom is a weekly alcohol and other drug support group for women. Based on a mutual peer-support model, participants learn and draw from others’ lived experience, and are empowered with the tools to make positive changes in their lives.
In Bloom, you’ll be supported to set and work towards your goals, and build the skills necessary for long-term recovery. We’ll support you to manage triggers, handle cravings, prevent relapses and more, while you build your self-confidence and social connections in the group.
Bloom runs every Wednesday from 11.30 am – 1.00 pm, for women only, at 1337 Point Nepean Rd, Rosebud. You must be a current Windana client to attend – speak to your Windana worker to find out more.
Rise
“We want participants to walk away not just with insight, but with real, usable tools to calm their minds, manage cravings, and respond to life differently.” – Rise facilitator
Rise (Regulate Internal Systems and Emotions) supports emotional regulation to support recovery and wellbeing.
Rise takes a psychoeducational approach to building participants’ recovery skills, supporting them to manage emotions, handle cravings and prevent relapse. Rise provides participants with practical strategies to explore emotional regulation techniques, de-escalation tools, and ways to increase meaningful community engagement and support networks.
Rise operates as a 6-week, rolling program, though participants can drop in any week with no long-term commitment required.
Rise runs every Tuesday from 11.30 am – 1.00 pm, at 88 Alma Road, St Kilda. You must be a current Windana client to attend – speak to your Windana worker to find out more.
Thrive

Thrive is a weekly psychoeducation group for any Windana clients, providing support and a non-judgemental space to share experiences, build community and gain help and encouragement.

- Understanding addiction
- Triggers and cravings
- Relapse prevention
- Emotional regulation
- Healthy relationships and boundaries
- Stress management
- Mindfulness
- Lifestyle and wellness
